
Robert spent 18
years as a financial consultant with one of the largest
brokerage firms in the world. During his career, he garnered
such achievements as President's Club and Top Producer Awards.
He has published
Faultless Freddie's Football Forecast, a
humorous weekly prognostication for college football, and
charmed both radio and TV audiences with his highly accurate and
hilarious predictions. Additionally, Robert built a very successful
marketing business with an international company and was named
that corporations "Marketing Executive of the Year"
and included in their prestigious "Hall of Fame."
Robert has
entertained audiences in 37 states and, after living in Florida
for 25 years, has returned to his native state of Georgia where,
as he puts it, "Heaven's just a local call." He and
his first wife, Berta, reside in Hamilton, Georgia.
Robert is a native of
Columbus, and graduated from the University of
Georgia in 1970. After returning to Columbus from
Athens, he worked in the vending business. In
December of 1972 he and his wife, Berta, moved to
Winter Park, Florida (Orlando area), where he
spent 20 years as a stockbroker with a major firm.
Always having a desire to live in the country and
enjoy the small town atmosphere, Robert and Berta
have become very attached to the people of
Hamilton.
He will soon be publishing
Thoughts From The Prone Position, a collection of humorous quotes, anecdotes,
and thoughts on many subjects.
He is a charter member of
the H. I. B. C. – The Hamilton International
Breakfast Club – that meets rather informally each
morning at the Pastime Café on the square in
Hamilton. Their motto is "Support for the
Community – Advice for the World."
Robert is currently
involved in the Young Life, Campus Crusade for
Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the
Gridiron Club of University of Georgia. Robert is
a spiritual man, and describes himself as a "Methobapterian,"
asserting that God does have a sense of humor. His
hobbies include fishing, a severe addiction to
baseball, reading and lifelong dieting.
"I have been blessed with
Berta, my wife of 32 years," says Robert. They
have two children: Travis, who lives with his
wife, Melanie, and son, Tate, in Huntsville AL,
and Mary Grace, who lives with her husband,
Marcus, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Robert’s philosophy by
which he tries to live is "When times are good for
you, work hard to keep the same hat size." |
